Thilo Bein

Thilo Bein is currently Head of Knowledge Management at the Fraunhofer LBF being responsible for all publicly funded research and the strategic research planning within the Fraunhofer LBF. Over the last years, Mr. Bein participated in and managed various projects on lightweight design, smart structures and noise & vibration problems, among others, he coordinated the integrated project (FP6-IP) InMAR, the collaborative projects (FP7-CP) Co2ntrol, ENLIGHT and the SEAM-cluster, the largest network for lightweight design in Europe as well as run the project secretariat for the H2020 project ALLIANCE. Furthermore, he is chairperson of the Foresight Group Integrated and Connected Product Development of EARPA (European Automotive Research Partners Association), member of ERTRAC (European Road Transport Research Advisory Council, co-chair of working group Global Competitiveness) and ERTRAC SIG. He also acts as FhG representative in the CCAM and EGVIAfor2Zero associations. For the latter, he currently is the elected Vice-Chair from Research. Furthermore, he is technical Advisor of the WG 5 “Mobility Applications and Integration” of BEPA and is active in the WG on Safety, Freight & Logistics of ECTRIC and in the WG Automotive of EPoSS, among others. Besides, he is professor at the TU Darmstadt lecturing transducer materials.
